Prima donnas Kelly, Hussain and Duckworth cherry picking their games after dodging a bullet at the Netham

It was a very dominant week in the field. Hussain and Duckworth opened the bowling with very good spells Hussain bagging another 3 wickets for the season, the first of three coming from a good catch from the designated ball shiner Filer, his first and last contribution to the game. When the openers came off everyone one was buzzin having the opposition 8-3, sorry not everyone was happy prima donna Duckworth expressing his disgust in the captain for taking him off even though he came back on to bowl 5 overs later securing 2 more wickets. Self proclaimed best fielder in the club Mason enters the attack after letting the big boys clear up the top order for him again. Bowling some tight lines the medium pacer picked up another 2, probably because the batsman got bored waiting for the slower ball to reach them. The better Dris and Kelly came on to pick up their token tail end wickets boosting the stats for the season. Captain Greek was getting adventurous with his field settings having a 10, 0 off-side field with more than half the team in the slips. The trusty lines of Kelly bowling really well to his field decided to chuck a shin height full toss right on the pads with the ball racing away to the square leg boundary. When he finally bowled one straight he picked up the last wicket leaving Bedminster with 53 runs to win. Top effort in the field, great buz and a TFC on the cards for the skipper?!

Leading the chase Simon Roche and Ben Cunliffe (son of Rob Cunliffe) looked fairly comfortable until Roche got triggered for 3. The Bemi youth of Cunliffe and young Shean looked like seeing job through in supreme style, young Ben wearing most of his dad’s kit looked in inspired form finishing on an unbeaten 35 and Shean looking like he was playing for red letters but got out on a respectable 9. Maccers (the finisher) comes in, stables the ship and hits the winning runs just in time for the lovely curry at teas and for the one man team Liverpool to bottle yet another title . A very convincing win putting the boys top of the league, roll on next week at home to Bris hopefully against their new man.
