Bedminster Return To Form With Convincing Win At The Clanage

On a beautiful sunny day at the Clanage, skipper Tryfonos won the toss and elected to bowl on a batsman's paradise, thankfully once again Bedminster's bowlers rescued Tryfonos from his horrendous decision, and went about removing Redcliffe's top order.
Leading wicket taker Lewis Mason finally got his wish to open the bowling and removed opener Thrower for 1 before claiming his second victim caught behind by failed first teamer Alfie Jaques.
Mason was ably backed up at the other end by James Duckworth, who finally opened his wicket tally for the season "praise the lord" siting the absence of Kruz Belcher as normal keeper for the lack of his own wickets.
On came M Barnes and H Newman to bowl and they continued to frustrate Redcliffe's middle order, bowling economical spells, without reward or being backed up in the field.

Captain Tryfonos's pathetic fielding display at third man leaving many questioning weather Simon Roach did a better job last week in the field sat on his bench. Alfie Jaques was also in the spot light being picked as a specialist keeper but showing just why he was deemed surplus to requirements for the ones by dropping a dolly off of Newmans bowling.
Sensing the game was in need for some filth, Tryfonos decided to bring himself and newbie George Stephenson onto bowl, and they undoubtedly delivered, bowling a barrage of pies and double bouncing balls to claim 5 wickets between them, McCormack so embarrassed by the standard of bowling actually took a catch to get off the field as fast as possible. Sharp fielding from Duckworth and Newman led to two run outs and restricted Redcliffe to 152 all out.

Going to work at knocking off the mild target, Captain Fantastic Tryfonos picked up where he left off last week, playing across the line and being trapped LBW plum as they come for a duck! . McCormack set about getting back to the bar with his first team friends as quickly as possible, spraying Redcliffe's attack all over the ground before being bowled for 22 whilst stepping on the umpires toes at square leg facing the overseas quick. Reece John fresh from his holiday, completely forgot that cricket involved using a bat, survived multiple plum LBW shouts before being finally being sent on his way after a long pleading appeal. This brought the inform Vikash Patel to the crease, having reached double figures for the season last week with an impressive 9 he was unable to continue in his rich vain of form losing his middle stump for 2. Stephenson joined Barnes at the helm and set about bazilling Bedminster towards victory, Barnes once again showing his adopted family he can actually bat, scoring a chanceless 75 with some impressive shots along the way. 1st team arse licker Stephenson keen to prove he can play an off side shot scored at least 5 runs through the covers, before reverting to his leg side slogs, dispatching Redcliffe's attack over the club house. Surviving an early scare, Bedminster comfortably chased down their target in 35 overs maintaining pressure on Hamset at the top of the league. Shout out to Tom Rothero who again achieved the 'thanks for coming' status for the week.
