Bedminsters winning run was emphatically ended as they were beaten at home by Clevedon.

Having won the toss Clevedon chose to bat and went to 80 in the 15th over before Marc Lezar (43) was well caught by Jack Gibbs from Sam Knapp. Masoor Khan (42) added a further 32 run partnership with Max Curtis before he attempted a silly run and was ran out by Sai Kamuni. Mark Alleyne bowled Clevedon Skipper Jake Lintott for 17 ending his stay with Curtis one short of their half century partnership, with Clevedon now 161-3 in 31 overs. Clevedon, perhaps distracted by the half hour delay for rain then collapsed to 178 all out, with Max Curtis (42) the only batsman to continue to offer any resistance before he was caught hitting one into his boot over his head into Alfie Jacques gloves from the spin of Miles Hammond (9-1-26-3).

As there was no golden half an hour the rain delay in the Clevedon innings meant both teams lost four overs so the revised total for Bedminster to continue their winning run was 182 calculated on The Duckworth Lewis Stern Method.

Bedminster returned to their early season batting woes as they slumped to 18-4 inside 8 overs, Andy Solomons (7-1-21-2) and Max Curtis (6-1-20-2) doing the early damage. Experienced ex Gloucester pairing Mark Alleyne and Rob Cunliffe offered Bedminster a glimmer of hope with a 31 run partnership before the Lintott had Alleyne (7) LBW. Cunliffe (30) combined with Richard Sillars before he was bowled by Masoor Khan for 30, Sam Knapp went LBW the next ball for a Golden Duck and Bedminster were now 73-7 in 22 overs. Khan (6-2-5-3) and Lintott (6.4-1-28-3) quickly wrapped up the game as they bowled Bedminster out for 82, Sillars (17) the only other player from the home team to get into double figures.

Bedminster have slipped one place to fifth and will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they travel to bottom placed Corsham next week.
