Last ball thriller results in a tie despite Smith's 5-40 and Drissell's 62.

After the overnight thunderstorms the Clanage was looking a splendid colour of green. Captain Carter won his third toss in a row and elected to bowl in the overcast cloudy conditions.

Bedminster made early inroads with Tom Lace (8) and Merv Hallaran (10) bowled by Richard Sillars and debutant Jack Gibbs respectively with the score on 24-2 at the end of the 9th over. A 79 run partnership between Somerset's Adam Hose and Ben Coombes (31) was ended right on the drinks break as Tom Smith bowled the later. Smith (10-1-40-5) then continued to pick up wickets at regular intervals having danger man Adam Hose (68) caught by Jack Gibbs running in from the boundary and reducing Bridgwater to 147-7 after 32.2 overs. Jonathan Vickery and Kiwi William Williams (24) used up the majority of the remaining overs before Sillars got his fellow countryman out with another fine catch by Gibbs on the boundary. Sillars (10-1-41-3) picked up his third with keeper Alfie Jaques casually taking a one handed catch to his right getting Andrew Roberts (5) in the penultimate over. With only a single in the final over Bridgwater finished on 213-9 with Vickery on 34 not out.

Max Tryfonos was promoted to open with Sai Kumani, who fell cheaply, and with the score on 16 and only over 4 overs on the board doubts of whether another collapse was on the cards. This was not the case as George Drissell joined Tryfonos and ensured another 11 overs were used up until the later was bowled by Chris Singleton for an impressive 25. Sillars (16) and Rob Cunliffe (7) were both surpised at their LBW dismissals by Liam Redrup and Todd Barret respectively. Smith joined Drissell just after drinks and both showed composure and patience dispatching the bad ball. Drissell brought up his half century off 102 balls at the start of the 39th over. With the solid start behind him and his team Smith (29) started to play some reverse sweeps and at attacking shots but only managed to find the fielders, including the tall Kiwi Williams who saved the scorers taking a great catch on the short clubhouse boundary leaving Bedminster 154-5 in the 41st over.

This brought the inform Tom Pugsley to the crease who went on the attack straight away taking 15 from one of Roberts overs. With 30 needed Drissell, who had played a patient innings, went on the charge but was bowled by Williams for 62 off 121 balls. Pugsley continued with some lusty blows and supported by George Russell brought up the double century for Bedminster with 13 balls to go. With a run a ball needed Pugsley (35 from 23) went for a quick single and was ran out by a direct hit by keeper Lace. Carter (1) promoted himself up the order but failed to connect as Williams (10-1-44-3) cleaned bowled him. Rusell hit a four to leave seven required from the last over. A dot and four singles left bedminster leaving 3 from the final delivery for their first win this season. Russell hit the final ball skywards straight towards the fielder at mid on who surprisingly let it dro in front of him, even though the throw was over the stumps bowler Skidmore knocked the bails off with his arm without the ball and Gibbs had scampered back to the bowlers end for the second run leaving the game tied.

Credit to both teams who each gain 13 points from the match. Next week Bedminster will be looking to continue to show more progression when they make the short trip to Clevedon, who before today's game were top of the table, but have now been leapfrogged by Bristol.
